Handling Times of "Limbo"

Handling times of “Limbo” in our livesOne of the hardest times in our lives are times of “limbo”. By limbo I mean, an uncertain period of awaiting a decision or resolution; an intermediate state or condition. It is easier to handle the good news that we will live or the bad new that we will die than be in the uncertainty in which we don’t know if we will die or live. Hanging in the balance is difficult. We can handle our marriage being heathy or that our that we will be divorced, but having our relationship be troubled with only the risk of a divorce is actually harder to handle than knowing one way or another. We all face times of limbo in our lives. Sometimes coming to resolution quickly but others dragging on for years in our lives. How can we handle “limbo”? Here are some suggestions.1. Remember that limbo cannot separate you from the love and plan of God for you. (Romans 8:27-36)2. Ask for wisdom on how to respond to new circumstances and making the best decisions in them (James 1:2-4)3. Accept the state of limbo as where God wants you in order to show you some new aspect of your life or accomplish some great thing through you. Figure out what reality is and adapt to it.4. Don’t make your ultimate happiness not dependent on the outcome but on accomplishing God’s will.May the Lord help each of us who find themselves in strange and hard circumstances be given the ability to trust the Lord in the dark . Amen.
