The LORD is my Shepherd

Psa 23:1-6 NASB - "1 A Psalm of David. The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside quiet waters. 3 He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness For His name's sake. 4 Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You have anointed my head with oil; My cup overflows. 6 Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life, And I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever."Every real need of our life is provided by our divine shepherd even on the worst days of our lives. Most of our days have not been the worst days of our lives. He has provided for us days of green pastures and quiet waters. But, even when we walk in the shadow of death HE is with us ready to correct, protect from ultimate harm, and guide. We can be comforted to know we are not alone. Nothing can separate us from HIS love which has been proven by HIS sacrifice and suffering on the cross to make us free of condemnation. In the end the Lord’s purposes win out in the life of the true believer. HE sits us at the wedding supper of the bride of Christ Jesus and the enemies of our soul see that all their plans for our damnation have failed. The final victory is given to us in Christ and now eternally we will know the goodness and lovingkindness of the LORD in an eternal embrace of grace and joy. Our suffering will be over because of HIS suffering for us.Lord have mercy now upon us. Good shepherd, remember that we are but dust and so very frail, now come and lead us through this dark travail. Amen
