What is your purpose?

They lift up their voices, they sing for joy; over the majesty of the LORD they shout from the west. Therefore in the east give glory to the LORD; in the coastlands of the sea, give glory to the name of the LORD, the God of Israel. From the ends of the earth we hear songs of praise, of glory to the Righteous One. …..(Isa 24:14-16 ESV)Human beings were made in God’s image and likeness. We were designed more so than any other creature to reflect into the creation the nature and characteristics of the eternal and great KING of the universe. We were designed perfectly to be those most enabled to give “glory” to the LORD GOD.What does this mean? To glorify someone is by our deeds, attitudes, and words reflect upon the goodness, greatness, and grace of a person. We are admire their goodness and so are encouraged to be good. We are amazed at their great abilities and so strive to imitate what they do. We see their great compassion and so tell others of their kindness as we strive to be kind. God is infinitely good, great, and full of grace. Now a large part of glory is to speak and sing of the greatness of the one to whom we are giving glory. This type of speech is passionate, excited, and filled with a joy of speaking in awe of such a great person. The ultimate person who deserves to be glorified is the great, infinite, holy, righteous, wise, and strong creator God. Such an ultimate HERO should be admired and praised. Now since we were created to reflect God’s glory into creation then when we glorify God we fulfill the purpose of our deepest being. To fulfill the purpose of one’s creation is to reach our destiny and this is the deepest joy that one can experience. This is true virtue. It is to be true to one’s deepest self. Each of us has been created with a unique capacity to uniquely glorify the infinite and awesome God in some one of a kind way. Our glory of God is significant and special. Only we have been designed to bring to the creation the exact reflection of the great LORD that HE has designed for us. Since the fantastic MAKER has infinite ways to be reflected the each human being can be designed to reflect these infinite rays of greatness, goodness, and grace in a one of a kind way. Each of us is wonderfully made to bring out the wonder of God in a one of a kind way. This is our destiny.Do you believe that your ultimate and greatest purpose in everything you do is to demonstrate before a watching world the greatness, goodness, and grace of the LORD KING of heaven and earth? Do you see that fundamentally and essentially that everything you say, do, and feel is religious and part of worship? Is this how you see your daily life? Do you worry more about your glory than God’s glory? Would you be more concerned about your name being shamed than God’s name being blasphemed? Do you feel sometimes that your main purpose for living is to gain glory for yourself and take pleasure in your success? How do you think you could begin to own the idea that you exist to reflect and enjoy God’s greatness, goodness, and grace? What can you do to fulfill your destiny?A book that can help in defining this destiny is Bill Hybels, Holy Discontent: Fueling the Fire that Ignites Personal Vision.. Here are a couple quotes from the book that can get you thinking."I’m here to tell you that you were created to do good works, which explains how I know that you have a holy discontent banging around in your brain somewhere —if you're alive and kicking today, then there is a specific work that you are expected to do. There is a set of tasks with your name on it that God has given you to accomplish, and long before you actually arrived on the scene, God planted certain seeds in your soul that he remains whole-heartedly committed to watering, growing, and making into something meaningful, if you will let him. The danger in opting out of the holy discontent pursuit is that in doing so, you also opt out of tackling the good works God has wired you up to accomplish. The goal, friends, is to cultivate your soul's soil so that this doing-of-good-works process can unfold in your life—or, as you might say, to opt in. There is no greater satisfaction this side of heaven!"Hybels, Bill (2008-08-19). Holy Discontent: Fueling the Fire That Ignites Personal Vision (p. 51). Zondervan. Kindle Edition."The reason why it is so critical for you to dig in and figure out what it is that wrecks you is because you may be the one person God is looking for in order to reverse some ugly and destructive trends in your generation. In fact, when you find yourself standing on the sacred ground of your burning-bush experience, don't be surprised if you hear God say, “This is why I made you and why I wired you up like I did! This is why I allowed the mountain-top, reason-for-rejoicing times in your life, as well as why I let the pits of despair sneak in. None of your tears of anguish will be wasted; I plan to use every ounce of what you've been through for good in this specific area. I know you are devastated by the same problem that grieves me, and I just happen to have in mind someone exactly like you to help me solve this!” Let me say that last part again. God is looking for someone just like you—someone who gets wrecked on planet Earth by the things that wreck him up in heaven—so that he can sign you up for service. I assure you there is a holy discontent with your name on it. There is something out there that God is waiting for you to grab on to so that he can use you to help solve it. It wrecks you, it wrecks him, and he is ready for you both to do something about it."Hybels, Bill (2008-08-19). Holy Discontent: Fueling the Fire That Ignites Personal Vision (pp. 53-54). Zondervan. Kindle Edition. So what is your holy discontent? Take some time to find it. The dedicate yourself to acting on that discontent. May God give you a hunger and thirst for some part of what is right so that God's kingdom will be seen a little more clearly on earth. Your live has divine purpose! Find it! Live it!
