Day by Day

When ever we try to project what the future hold we produce a real danger to our emotional and spiritual well being. If we project a dark future of defeat and disaster, then our minds take this picture of the future and respond to it as if it already exists. The body produces chemicals consistent with such a horrible condition. Feelings of panic and depression come upon us in waves. If we project a positive future of assured success, then this can produce in us a positive emotional state. However, it can cause us to become over confident, cut corners, and less prayerful. Our emotional high can be easily wiped out as our expectations are not met. Or believing we have to win, we begin taking greater and greater risks without due prudence.Only by living day by day with no projection of our particular futures can we focus our prayers and energy on that which matters. The reality we currently face is the one that must be handled with sanity, stability, and spirtuality. God will give us the wisdom and strength we need for today and not tomorrow. As the Messiah Jesus taught: Matthew 6:33-34 NASB - "33 "But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. 34 "So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."So stop speculating about your future and put all your thoughts and prayers into today. That is the best way to get ready for tomorrow.
