Three great truths that help in hard times
We all face hard times. There are three truths which were presented by Dr. Jonathan Edwards a philosopher and theologian which I have found very helpful.1. The hard time will eventually work for good. (Romans 8:28)There is gain in all my pain. No tears will fail to bear fruit. All my sorrow is the road to ultimate success.2. The hard times cannot take from me the gifts of God or my purpose. (Romans 11:29)In Christ I will always be forgiven, adopted, accepted, and beloved. No hard time can take this from me. I am forever God's child and nothing in all creation can seperate me from the love of God in Christ Jesus. Before I was born, God had called me to accomplish a unique group of good works (Ephesians 2:10). No hard time can prevent me from fulfilling my divine destiny.3. The best times are yet to come! (1 Corinthians 2:9)The wonder of being in perfect union and communion with the Living God in Christ will make all the suffering of this life appear as nearly nothing. The love of God in Christ dying for my sins has given me an assured future of great joy and glory. If you are facing hard times today then use these truths to be your foundation on which to stand. May the Lord grant you great grace today.
