LORD, thank YOU for wanting me with YOU! (Luke 14:16-21)

Jesus says ....."(16) But He said to him, "A man was giving a big dinner, and he invited many; (17) and at the dinner hour he sent his slave to say to those who had been invited, 'Come; for everything is ready now.' (18) "But they all alike began to make excuses. The first one said to him, 'I have bought a piece of land and I need to go out and look at it; please consider me excused.' (19) "Another one said, 'I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I am going to try them out; please consider me excused.' (20) "Another one said, 'I have married a wife, and for that reason I cannot come.' (21) "And the slave came back and reported this to his master. Then the head of the household became angry and said to his slave, 'Go out at once into the streets and lanes of the city and bring in here the poor and crippled and blind and lame.'" [Luke 14:16-21 NASB]Lord, is my business keeping me from YOUR very near presence? Do you invite me to enter into YOUR joy but failing to value YOUR fellowship and gifts?I find excuses to not take time to respond with joy to YOUR call to be with YOU. Forgive me.Ultimately, this is what the unbelievers do.YOU call to them from creation and they push away YOUR invitation. YOU call to them from the internal voice of their conscience and turn up the volume of their vices. YOU speak to them through the proclaiming of the gospel and they busy themselves with other things. They reject YOUR invitation and don't value YOUR call.Except for YOUR grace I would do the same. Forgive me.LORD, let me not be so foolish but see that I am poor, crippled, blind, and lame. Powerless and undeserving, yet YOU bid me into YOUR very near presence, great, good, and merciful KING. Give me a heart of repentance and faith that I may enter into YOUR near presence today pay for by YOUR sacrifice in blood at the cross.Save me from the distractions of the every day life. Help me not value my retirement, my work, or even my family as more important than YOUR calling to be with YOU in fellowship and acceptance.Give me a hunger and thirst for YOUR presence even as YOU have a hunger and thirst for my presence.Let all of these good things not choke out YOUR WORD and make it fruitless.Let me not live in worry of small things and lose the one good thing.Let me seek first YOUR kingdom and righteousness. Let me seek first YOU.THANK YOU LORD, for inviting me to YOUR KINGDOM FEAST!. Let me enter into YOUR joy. Help me appreciate and value YOUR grace, goodness, and greatness.Open my eyes to see YOU more clearly, love YOU more dearly, and follow YOU more nearly.LORD, have mercy and give me true faith in YOU today. Amen
